Marvel Releases First Thor: Ragnarok TV Spot

Spider-Man: Homecoming is guaranteed to be another hit, and the Marvel marketing machine is now gearing up for the next Marvel Cinematic Universe installment, Thor: Ragnarok. The solo franchise’s previous movies were okay – but quite frankly, not that memorable – so there’s a lot riding on Ragnarok. And if we look at the other solo franchises that launched the MCU, this third, and presumably last, part of the Thor series will have a huge impact.

Tony Stark realized that being Iron Man wasn’t about his many suits or the arc reactor, and Captain America: Civil War signaled the beginning of the end for the Avengers, so what will Thor: Ragnarok bring to the table?

Based on the movie’s trailer, the movie will bring a lot of fun to the MCU! Thanks to the unique vision of director Taika Waititi, we’re talking fun like we've never had before with this solo franchise. Plus, we have Jeff Goldblum as an antagonist; Loki (we wonder what schemes he’s cooking up); and the long-awaited Thor vs. Hulk fight, which appears to be the focus of the marketing campaign.

Not unexpectedly, it doesn’t show us anything new. The Ragnarok release date is four months away, so there’s still plenty of time to release new details.

In Marvel we trust, so we know that the studio won't spoil all of the main action sequences, as it happened with Spider-Man: Homecoming.
