Marvel Characters James Gunn Wants in His Movies

While Thor was the first movie to expand the MCU beyond Earth, Guardians of the Galaxy took us on an actual journey into space. James Gunn surprised everybody by blending comedy and action, and introduced some pretty peculiar characters.

Drax isn't exactly the comics' Destroyer, but Groot and Rocket Raccoon proved that there's no limit to what Marvel has to offer on the big screen. So can we expect similar characters to pop up in the MCU in the near future? Of course! Thor: Ragnarok will introduce Miek, an insectoid being from Sakaar, and we already know about Lady Lylla, a sentient otter who worked with Rocket.

During a recent Q & A session on Facebook, Gunn revealed that there's an additional character he'd like to have in his movies. The director went on to say that at one time, he wanted to do a movie with Hit Monkey, a monkey assassin who targeted only assassins.

Gunn added that he was interested in making a Hulk vs. Red Hulk movie, and just the thought of that is an indication that a great opportunity was missed. Hulk's solo movies didn't impress at the box office, but with James Gunn attached…

That's not all! When asked which MCU character he'd like to have in his Guardians of the Galaxy movies, James Gunn named Ant-Man. And it could happen, because by the time Guardians of the Galaxy 3 arrives, the Avengers and the Guardians will have met.

So, Hit Monkey and Hulk vs. Red Hulk may not happen, but Paul Rudd might appear in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
