Mark Ruffalo wants his Hulk to cross paths with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe someday.
Ed Norton starred as Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk, in the character's only MCU solo movie in 2008, but it's Ruffalo who took over the role in 2010 and has since brought the character to life in four different movies (excluding the Iron Man 3 cameo). Over the years, Ruffalo's superhero has interacted with a wide range of Marvel Comics superheroes on big screen, including Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye.
However, there's one iconic Marvel character that Hulk, or for that matter anyone in the MCU, has never teamed up with: James Howlett, aka Wolverine. And Ruffalo has revealed that he would very much love to see his green rage monster trade blows with the clawed mutant on big screen. Here's what the two-time Academy Award actor said when asked at The Marvelists podcast about the characters he would want Hulk to interact with in the future:
Well, of course, there's always the Banner-Black Widow combo, which I think is always a good combination. It'd be cool to see"¦ I mean, people talk a lot about Wolverine and Hulk hooking up, I think that would be a really great combo. And I love Hugh, and it would be cool to do something with him, if he's up to doing it. He's always teased Hulk versus Wolverine would be pretty fun.
Judging from what Mark Ruffalo says, it's clear that he would prefer Hugh Jackman over some other actor as Wolverine. With the Disney-Fox merger gaining approval of the Department of Justice as well as the shareholders of both studios, a Hulk vs. Wolverine crossover is no longer just wishful thinking. But it's been more than a year and half since hung up the claws. So, there's still plenty of doubt about the notion of Ruffalo and Jackman sharing screen as their fan-favorite superheroes.
