Mark Ruffalo Hulks Out in Thor: Ragnarok BTS Video

Filming for director Taiki Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok is officially underway, and today Bruce Banner himself has given us a brief behind-the-scenes look at the new installment.

Marvel's Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, tweeted a video of himself messing around with a pair of giant green arms on the set of the upcoming Thor feature.

"Hello from the set of #Thor3!" Ruffalo wrote. "As you can see, I've got my hands full. It ain't easy being green…" The video shows him running toward the camera and winding up for a trademark Hulk punch.

Thor: Ragnarok arrives in theatres on November 3, 2017, so we've got quite a wait before we see any serious Hulk action. Along with Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth is returning as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as Loki. Joining them are Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. With such a star-studded cast, this third installment is sure to draw huge audiences.

Details about the new feature have been scarce so far, and it's still unclear how big a role Ruffalo will play as Bruce Banner versus as the Hulk himself. The film has been described as Thor and the Hulk traveling together through space, which would prove difficult for human Banner. We're not sure how much we'll see of Ruffalo sans-CGI when the film finally debuts, but this peek behind the scenes is a welcome tidbit for his fans.

It's also unclear whether the arms Ruffalo wears in the video are what he really sports for his motion-capture Hulk scenes, but they do look like a lot of fun. It's been suggested that Marvel is aiming to maintain a lighter and more humorous atmosphere in upcoming MCU films"”which is no surprise, considering how well received the comic relief was in Guardians of the Galaxy, and how audiences reacted to the darkness of this year's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

2017 is shaping up to be a big year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as both the new Spider-Man film and the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel will premiere before Thor: Ragnarok. While we wait, let's hope Ruffalo continues to give us glimpses of the Thor set via social media.
