If you love spy movies and/or action comedies, Kingsman: The Golden Circle should be on your Must-Watch list for 2017. The sequel to Matthew Vaughn's 2014 blockbuster Kingsman: The Secret Service will roll into theaters on October 6, 2017. Original cast members Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, and Mark Strong will reprise their roles.
A bunch of major Hollywood stars - Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges - have joined the movie's cast roster, taking the anticipation to an even higher level. And Taron Egerton clearly doesn't want us to expect anything less from Kingsman: The Golden Circle. He made some big promises in a recent interview with Cinema Blend:
[Matthew Vaughn] goes even further with it. It’s kind of absolutely crazy. Julianne Moore is the villain, and she’s genuinely terrifying. She’s really, really, really great. So it’s bigger, badder, more guns, you know? All that stuff. It’s fun.
Both critics and audiences liked Kingsman: The Secret Service for its visceral action sequences, unique gunfights, and raw carnage. Exactly how Vaughn manages a grander scale for the sequel remains to be seen. It is to be noted that in his decade-plus as feature film director, he has never returned to helm a sequel. So, Vaughn must be really confident about what he’s doing with Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
20th Century Fox might have recently pushed back the movie's release date from July to October 2017, but the Welsh actor doesn't think we’re too far from watching its first promotional video. According to Egerton, we can expect something to arrive by February:
I can’t imagine it would be very deep into next year. I think maybe there would be a teaser within the first couple of months of next year. We’re now an October release. It depends, I really don’t know. Matthew Vaughn works in mysterious ways, but you won’t be disappointed, it’s going to be awesome.
