Joss Whedon and the Death of the Avengers

Joss Whedon has become Ultron in the flesh

Joss Whedon, in the most recent interview in the Empire Magazine talks about, what else, Avengers: Age of Ultron. And we all know how he loves a good death, so it isn't too surprising to hear from him that the Avengers are going to die in their fight against Ultron, one by one. So it isn't a surprise for him to hear that he has no idea what Marvel will do when Phase III starts.

And, to be frank, we knew that one of the members of the team will probably die until the end of the movie, to make the threat seem real - after all, each new Avenger film should bring an even greater foe. And if Joss Whedon says that the Avengers have to die"¦

Joss Whedon - the kidder

Yup, Joss Whedon was just having a bit of fun, since he also heard about the said rumors (there is a very recent scene description which teases some casualties).

But, if we can recall, the Comic Con trailer showed an asteroid on which the bodies of all the Avengers were scattered. Does this mean that Avengers: Age of Ultron will show Thanos obliterating the Avengers? Is this just a vision/illusion created by Scarlet Witch? What do you expect - of course Joss Whedon wouldn't divulge anything"¦

But this does make us think that Thanos will indeed make a cameo appearance in Age of Ultron - who knows, maybe the Mad Titan is the one that has actually sent Ultron"¦ But this is just speculation, frankly based on nothing.

Joss Whedon - Ultron in the flesh

One more thing needs to be added - the writer/director is so caught up in what he is doing, that he instantly switches to the point of view of his characters. So again Joss Whedon comes and says - the Avengers must die. And that is because he has become Ultron.
