The biggest of all big questions regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe is when Josh Brolin will become blue and big again. We know for sure that it won't be in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. II, since James Gunn said so. And, quite frankly, we can't say he was in the first one either - his presence there was just to remind people that he still exists.
So when will Josh Brolin become Thanos once again?
During an interview with Superhero Hype, the actor did touch for a bit this subject, though, as always with Marvel, he didn't exactly say anything that couldn't be interpreted: "It's not voice work, it's mo-cap. I'm there. I'm there and I'm not in a booth. I'm being filmed. I have a bunch of crap on my face. [laughs] I'm being filmed by like thirty-four cameras? Thirty-six cameras? Something like that. Every movement, everything. So, it's very new to me, it's very exciting, it's very unnerving. But I sure trust these guys!"
As said, his words can be twisted, if one wants that. And, even so, they don't actually say anything about Josh Brolin's role in the future MCU movies.
However, the actor followed by saying, "we're supposed to get together very soon to talk about the trajectory of Thanos in the next few years and it's very exciting. It's one of the better decisions I think I've made." Why is this so important?
Well, because we might have an idea when Thanos will pop up next. A couple of days ago, Taika Waititi talked about Thor: Ragnarok and said that he looks forward to bringing Thor to a whole new level and make him more than just a bland and uninteresting character. Of course, he did talk about a new kind of humor"¦
Taking into account what Josh Brolin said (that he will soon find out the trajectory of Thanos in the MCU) and seeing that Thor: Ragnarok will start shooting this summer, can we believe that Thanos will be the mastermind behind Asgard's (potential) destruction? Of course we can do that. And it makes sense, since Loki has been his lieutenant ever since the first Thor movie arrived.
It will be a bit too late for Thanos to appear and exhibit his power during the first Infinity War movie. Thor: Ragnarok is the best time for him to show that he should indeed be feared: the destruction of the protectors of the 9 realms is a must on his CV.
So do you also believe that Josh Brolin will appear next year, in Thor: Ragnarok?
