Hank Pym is not the main character in Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man (July 17th, 2015). While he is the original Ant-Man, Peyton Reed's venture will see Paul Rudd's Scott Lang take the stage as Ant-Man.
Things seemed pretty clear until a couple of days ago: Hank Pym is the mentor, Scott Lang is the successor and Yellowjacket is the villain.
A LEGO set which is to be released June 1st has, however, revived a rumor that started when Michael Douglas was cast: that his character will play the antagonist figure.
The rumor was dismissed once Corey Stoll was locked in for Darren Cross, better known as Yellowjacket. Now, however, the public is forced to revisit Michael Douglas's character: perhaps Hank Pym is not a clear-cut mentor.

But is he really?
LEGO sets are known to have let slip plot details or unexpected first looks at characters in previous Marvel movies. But does the Hank Pym minifig entail he's a villain? THE villain?
Scroll down to see for yourself, and compare the image featuring Hank Pym in the Black Ant suit with Ant-Man's. Is it so obvious they're not on the same side? That they're in fact on opposite sides?
No, not in my opinion. Granted, Hank Pym's suit looks a bit more menacing with all that black and red details. But take the black and replace it with silver and add some extra high-tech details and you get"¦ Yeah, exactly, Ant-Man's suit.
