The Avengers series brings together the A-listers of the Marvel Universe. There's Iron Man, there's Captain America, Hawkeye, Thor, and, of course, Hulk and Loki. There you are: one hell of a testosterone-driven crazy quilt. They antagonize each other, they all have standalone stories behind, but they unite to save the day.
Let's not forget: there's also Black Widow, so far the only female Avenger. A bit unbalanced, gender-wise that is, this whole Avengers unit. Josh WMC must have thought the same, which is why he created the female versions of some of the characters. The work is in progress: not all characters are yet photoshopped. But we look forward to seeing more of his work!
The Avengers after gender reassignment in Photoshop
Introducing Iron Maiden
The Iron Man costume really suits Sandra Bullock. Some anatomical adjustments can be seen there, but, hey, who minds that?
Miss America goes to"¦
"¦ the one, the only Alison Brie. She really makes the Captain's costume look good! Kudos to the artist: that's not just a fantastic reinterpretation of the Captain, but the mashup really brings out the best in Brie. Look at that crop top, look at those abs!
If you got used to Alison Brie's girly air, it's time to salute the woman in her! She made us laugh, she made us cry! Now she's portrayed in a jaw-dropping stance that combines strength and grace. Wondering what inspired the artist to decide on Alison Brie for this mashup. In all cases, excellent choice, excellent job!
A hammer blow from Thora
Chris Hemsworth is quite the looker! They couldn't have picked a better one to play Thor. But take a look at the female version! Amber Heard is all geared up to impersonate the goddess. She's a goddess anyway, with or without the hammer and the cloak. She's blonde, she has the eyes, and she has the face. Mostly, she has the attitude!
Bring in the costume: Amber Heard seems to really know her way around a hammer! And the slit miniskirt: well, what kind of a trade is that to put the pants behind? If you asked me, a good one!
She's got the avenging looks for Lokia
Loki with a cleavage? He's the god of mischief anyway, so who's to say he wouldn't look good? Yet, there's no magic here, just Photoshop. Rooney Mara was selected for the mashup, and whatever the creative efforts of Josh WMC, they paid off. Fully, I might add.
If the artist counted on the highest degree of resemblance to Tom Hiddleston, he couldn't have made a better choice. Don't you agree Rooney Mara does look a lot like Hiddleston? She might not be as flamboyant as her colleague, but she does stir up a sort of dark, twisted imagery. She pulls off one hell of a Lokia!
Lady Hulk: what a challenge!
This must have been quite a challenge for the artist. Because, I imagine, it's not easy to keep true to the image of a muscle-bound giant and make it look like a lady. But the mashup is not bad, not bad at all! Rachel Weisz was picked to make a lady out of Hulk.
Obviously, her traits are seriously distorted. I, for one, did not realize at first Rachel Weisz was hidden somewhere in that greenish creature. But, hey, neither does Mark Ruffalo look like the Hulk. So, if there ever was a She Hulk, this one is quite the looker. And a precious addition for the all-girl Avengers team!
So, there you are: the all-female Avengers team so far. Did you enjoy the ride? How would you like to see these girls teaming up in a superhero movie, even by title of parody? And who do you see impersonating Hawkeye or Fury? Leave your comments here and let us know your thoughts!
