Deadpool 2 Production Might Be Delayed After All!

Deadpool 2 is not kicking off filming in January 2017!

Until the third week of October, we were pretty sure that cameras will start rolling on Deadpool 2 early next year. Then Tim Miller, director of the original movie, made a sudden exit from the sequel, and we became concerned about production delays. But a couple of weeks later, we came across another report suggesting that 20th Century Fox was still aiming for a January 2017 start for the movie's production. However, the latest development indicates something else!

According to What's Filming, the studio still intends to shoot Deadpool 2 in Vancouver, Canada, but no longer plans to kick off filming early in the New Year. Instead, they’re now looking for a June 2017 start. Check out the screenshot below!

This news might be a little disappointing, considering the fact that they appointed John Wick co-director David Leitch as the new director less than a month after Miller's departure. But obviously, they have yet to sort out a number of things before heading into production, including casting the roles of Cable and Domino - the two mutants who will make their first appearances in Deadpool 2.

This pretty much falls in line with remarks by lead actor/producer Ryan Reynolds, who recently said that they’re "just in the development stage (but are) about to move into production".

It makes sense, because it provides enough time for necessary re-tooling and adjustments resulting from the new director's arrival. David Leitch is someone who is known for spending months in preparing his actors and stunt teams for the spectacular action sequences featured in his movies. He wouldn't want to be in a hurry.

And the last thing we would want is for them to rush into the project and end up making something mediocre. That would be far more disappointing.
