It’s been confirmed that T.J. Miller's Weasel will appear in Deadpool 2, which has been filming for about a month. Miller will begin filming his scenes in a few weeks, but he’s already teased a funny scene in which his character crosses paths with Karan Soni's Dopinder. And now, he’s predicting that the David Leitch sequel will be even funnier than Tim Miller's original movie.
Miller recently told Screen Rant that Deadpool 2 will be "more Weasel-icious than ever before". He said that the script made him laugh so hard that he dropped his iPad as he read it in a restaurant, then added:
As Ryan [Reynolds] and I were talking about, it's this great thing where we know the tone, we know the stakes, everybody's played these characters before. Most importantly, we know the tone, we know how to hit it pitch perfect. So I think it might actually be funnier than the first one. I'm really, really excited.
T.J. Miller isn't alone in thinking that Deadpool 2 will be funnier than the original. Josh Brolin (Cable), suggested the same during a recent interview. But Miller also told Screen Rant that something tragic will happen in the first act:
It's not going to be like Hangover 2, it's not going to be the same movie in a different location, for instance. It's got different stakes, different things happen, some pretty tragic, dark sh-t happens in the first part of the film, in the beginning, and the rest of the film is kind of dealing with that, so that's interesting.
The actor concluded by saying that his Weasel remains "just absolutely the most selfish individual on the face of the planet", which probably isn't good news for his best bud!
Here's a new set photo that Ryan Reynolds shared on Instagram, in which his Merc with a Mouth and Leslie Uggams' Blind Al are "just lost in each other's ears"!
