Most recently, Kevin Feige revealed that the Captain Marvel movie will be an origin story. Given the fact that the character is relatively unknown to the larger audiences (pretty much like almost all Marvel/Disney-owned superheroes), this is understandable. However, since the movie will be released after the Infinity War, this also means that we won't get to see Brie Larson until the untitled 4th Avengers film arrives.
How Powerful is Captain Marvel?
Talking about Carol Danvers, Feige also said that it’s important to get the character right, as it has happened with the other superheroes of the MCU. Most interestingly, however, is that Feige considers Captain Marvel to be the most powerful superhero of the MCU. And getting her character and story right is important, not just because this is the MCU, but also because she is set to become essential for the entire shared universe.
Here is what Feige said about Captain Marvel, via CBM:
What is one of the coolest things about it is she will be by far the most powerful character we’ve ever introduced in the movies. “How do you find those limitations? How do you find those vulnerabilities?” is something that is sort of at the crux of the story that we’re putting together. She has — as you know from the comics — an interesting story, and I think we have a very cool and unique way of telling that story. I don’t think it’s leaked yet exactly what we’re doing with her movie or how we’re doing it, but it will be cool. She will prove to be a very important character in our universe for all the movies.
Does this mean that her raw physical strength will surpass that of Hulk or even Thor? Or does this mean that she will be more powerful than even Doctor Strange? Time will tell"¦
