For the most part, the first Avengers: Infinity War trailer revolved around Thanos. However, that isn’t the case with a brand new TV spot that was first aired during the Super Bowl. This time around, the movie’s heroes take center stage.
The 30-second commercial offers plenty of fresh footage, starting with an open-mouthed, Iron Spider suit-clad Peter Parker. He appears to be aboard a spacecraft, and he’s not alone. In fact, he’s flanked by Sherlock Holmes times two! Well, not really; it’s Iron Man and Doctor Strange. The older heroes don't look as startled as the teen Spider-Man, and they definitely lack his energy. This blah atmosphere prevails throughout the spot, and there’s not a one-liner or even a slight grin to be had.
The Infinity War Super Bowl TV spot is completely lacking in humor, but there are some cool shots of our favorite heroes. One has Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) dramatically whipping off his sunglasses as parts of his suit appear on his body and move up his neck. Another shot provides our first glimpse of Captain America's new shield.
The spot also features the adolescent Groot and Nebula, who didn't show up in the first trailer. On the other hand, Hawkeye is still missing!
