During Civil War’s premiere, Ant-Man franchise helmer Peyton Reed gave away some interesting details for what to expect in his upcoming Ant Man sequel.
It seems that the movie’s script is in workings and everyone’s doing their best for something “you've never ever seen in a movie before.”
"We're hard at work writing the movie right now. So we've been holed up in a room, Paul Rudd, myself, Adam McKay, Gabriel Ferrari, and Andrew Barrer, who are our writers. So we're all brainstorming the story. I think the only thing I can tell you with certainty at this point, because we're still about two years away from the movie coming out, is that it's going to have stuff in it that you've never ever seen in a movie before," Peyton Reed revealed.
Ant-Man Joins Team Cap in Civil War
In an extended version of a clip that features Ant-Man, Marvel brings Ant-Man and Team Cap together to help fight against “psycho assassins.”
It seems that the hero with shrinking abilities is playing a major role in Captain America: Civil War, and will be interesting to see how the filmmakers made the most of his powers.
“Joe and Anthony [Russo] said they needed something big to turn the battle, and that just seemed like the greatest way to do that,” Kevin Feige told SlashFilm, referring to bringing Ant-Man and Team Cap together.
Ant-Man’s development as even a bigger character will also show up in Ant-Man and The Wasp, Feige said, but for now the sequel is in development.
“I can't say [what genre],” Feige said about Ant-Man and The Wasp. “But certainly we are in early days now of working on it. Paul Rudd is working on that story as we speak with Peyton Reed. We certainly want to stay true to what made it so unique and different, and we'll see how that comes together.”
