Ant-Man and the Wasp has added a new name to its cast roster! The Hateful Eight star Walton Goggins has joined the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment.
A number of outlets, including Deadline, have confirmed that Goggins has signed on, but none of them unveiled his character’s identity. Recently rumored new characters include Bill Foster, Janet van Dyne, and Victoria, none of whom would be a good fit for the 45-year-old actor.
But we may not have to wait too long for details! Marvel announced a 90-minute Hall H appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, and the event is rapidly approaching. We can expect that Ant-Man and the Wasp will be a part of it.
In addition to The Hateful Eight, Goggins appeared in movies G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Django Unchained, and Predators, as well as television shows Vice Principals, Justified, Sons of Anarchy, and The Shield. And the Peyton Reed sequel won’t be the actor’s the only major project in 2018; he’ll also star in Tomb Raider and Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
Along with Goggins, Ant-Man and the Wasp has cast Randall Park as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo and Hannah John-Kamen as an officially unnamed character (rumored to be named Dawn). Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, T.I., and David Dastmalchian will reprise their original Ant-Man roles.
The movie was expected to kick off production in Atlanta earlier this month, but that didn’t happen for some unknown reason. It’s possible that it was delayed because Avengers: Infinity War wrapped a little late. However, Deadline reported that cameras would roll by the end of July.
