DC’s Full Length Superman Trailer Is Here, Watch It Now

Superman (2025) - Warner Bros.

At long last, Warner Bros. has released the full-length trailer for James Gunn’s Superman. Gunn, known best as the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, is now the co-head of DC Studios. As such, he’s tasked with rebooting the DC Universe. That technically began with the animated Creature Commandos on Max last year. But when David Corenswet’s Clark Kent arrives on the big screen this summer, things truly begin to heat up. We now have a much better idea of what that’s going to look like. Check it out.

Warner Bros. previously revealed a teaser trailer, as well as an extended sneak peek at Superman last month. However, Gunn has been clear that there was much that hadn’t been revealed regarding his new take on the Man of Steel. This new trailer makes it clear that he wasn’t kidding as this offers a much better look at the filmmaker’s take on one of the world’s most beloved superheroes. Given that Gunn and DC Studios co-head Peter Safran have years worth of movies and TV shows planned for the new DC Universe, there is a lot riding on this.

Here is the synopsis for Superman.

“Superman DC Studios’ first feature film to hit the big screen, is set to soar into theaters worldwide this summer from Warner Bros. Pictures. In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind.”

The cast also includes Rachel Brosnahan (The Amateur ) as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Days of Future Past) as Lex Luthor. Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind), Anthony Carrigan (Gotham), Nathan Fillion (The Suicide Squad), Isabela Merced (Alien: Romulus), Skyler Gisondo (Booksmart), Sara Sampaio (At Midnight), María Gabriela de Faría (The Moodys), Wendell Pierce (Selma), Alan Tudyk (Andor), Pruitt Taylor Vince (Bird Box) and Neva Howell (Greedy People) round out the cast.

Among other projects, the new DCU has Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Clayface, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing and Teen Titans in the works as movies. We’ve also got the Green Lantern show Lanterns coming to HBO next year, with Peacemaker season 2 arriving later this year. That’s just the tip of the iceberg as other projects like Booster Gold and The Authority are also at various stages of development. Gunn has made it clear that all of these new projects will occupy the same universe.

The one area it gets complicated has to do with Matt Reeves’ The Batman and its long-delayed sequel. Gunn has made it clear that The Batman Part II will be its own thing and that Robert Pattinson won’t be the Batman in the new DCU. As of this writing, Reeves’ sequel is set to hit theaters in October 2027. As for the new DCU, it all starts in just a couple of months when Gunn’s vision truly comes into focus.

Superman is set to hit theaters on July 11.
