It appears as though another major Marvel character is getting in on the action for Avengers: Doomsday. The film, which will be the fifth Avengers entry overall, is gearing up for production next year. We already know that Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe fold. RDJ will be playing Doctor Doom as opposed to Iron Man though, fitting the theme of the Multiverse Saga. Charlie Cox, though? It looks like he’s sticking to Matt Murdock.
We must caution that this has yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios. That said, DFRNT Health and Fitness, a gym in Australia, has seemingly confirmed that Cox will reprise his role as Daredevil in the next Avengers movie. In a post featuring the actor after a workout, the caption said Cox is gearing up for the MCU team-up.

Cox first played the role of Matt Murdock in Netflix’s Daredevil show for three seasons. He was officially brought into the MCU in a brief scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Cox also appeared in a couple of episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. In 2025, he’ll finally return in a big way in Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. Vincent D’Onofrio is also returning as Kingpin. It appears Cox’s return won’t be limited to the small screen.
Plot details for Doomsday are currently being kept under wraps. Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame) are directing the film. The Russo Brothers are also directing Avengers: Secret Wars, which will conclude this saga of the MCU. Whether or not Cox will also be back for Secret Wars remains to be seen.

“In Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”
The only other movies on the calendar between now and the next two Avengers installments are Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four: First Steps. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is also due to hit theaters in 2026. Several Marvel mystery movies have been dated for 2028. However, those will probably remain a mystery until the Multiverse Saga gets closer to reaching its conclusion.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on May 7, 2027.
