[This article contains minor SPOILERS for Suicide Squad.]
If you thought Suicide Squad was the first DC Extended Universe installment to not have Zack Snyder behind the camera, you were wrong! During a recent interview with Collider, David Ayer revealed that the director of this year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the upcoming Justice League helmed a sequence in his August 5 release.
Do we know which particular scene it is? Yes, we do! It's the one where Ezra Miller's The Flash makes a cameo appearance. The Suicide Squad director says:
Flash was always in the movie, we just got lucky because Justice League was happening and they had the uniform, they had the assets, so we were able to get that photography.
According to David Ayer, the scene was shot in London when they were in post-production on the third DCEU installment. When asked if Zack Snyder, who is credited as executive producer, was behind the camera for it, Ayer confirmed that was what happened, indeed.
Well, many won't take this lightly. Snyder's directing just one scene in Suicide Squad could turn him into a scapegoat in their eyes. But his detractors should remember that many of the critics have called the scene one of the coolest moments in the movie. So, don't make him your punching bag for Suicide Squad!
By the way, if you were disappointed that so many of The Joker's scenes didn’t make it to the Suicide Squad theatrical cut, here's something that may give you some peace of mind. The official music video for Rick Ross and Skrillex's Purple Lamborghini from the movie's track list has been launched.
Jared Leto's zany version of the character appears in it, along with the two artists. Check it out below!
