Scott Eastwood was also rumored for the part of Steve Trevor when he was cast in Suicide Squad, which made no sense whatsoever, taking into consideration the fact that he was also set to be Wonder Woman’s love interest.

Why didn’t it make sense?

Because another rumor said that the first solo outing of the Amazons’ Princess will be set during WWII and even before that, mainly on Themyscira (during some sort of Civil War between two factions of Amazons) – which meant that Steve Trevor would have been more than 90 years old by the time Suicide Squad happened.

It will be interesting to see how this whole story will unfold, especially since (apparently) the DC Movie Universe takes its cues from the new 52.

Also, there is one more thing: hopefully, DC and Warner Bros won’t follow the same path described by Marvel with Steve Rogers’s Peggy Carter.
