Wonder Woman will be released in less than a month, and marketing activities – new clips, TV spots, pics, and posters – are finally kicking in. Thankfully, there are still quite a few surprises left for fans to enjoy in the theaters. One of those surprises is Ares’ appearance, which so far has been revealed via merchandise only.
Of course, some have said that Wonder Woman hasn't been marketed in the same manner as other superhero movies. However, the most recent reports said that the studio has spent more on promoting this movie than it did on last year’s Suicide Squad. So those who’ve been saying that the superheroine hasn't received the attention she deserves can now give it a rest.
Initial reactions to the movie are beginning to pop up online. John Shaw, president of Theatre Management Associates, LLC, said that Wonder Woman is exciting and entertaining in every way. He didn't mention where and when he viewed the movie, but given his credentials, we can assume that it was at a screening for theater owners.
John Shaw said that Diana Prince is a strong female character. He also praised the movie’s special effects and said that it was as big a blockbuster as Captain America.
Wonder Woman: exciting & entertaining in every way. Great SFX and characters. Here’s a summer blockbuster as good as Captain America ($370M)

Of course, he didn’t mention a specific Captain America movie, but we assume that he was referring to The First Avenger. The movie didn't really make a big splash, but it earned $370 million, and received a score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
That number doesn't seem that impressive when compared to the other DCEU releases, unless it refers to the US box office. Given previous posts by John Shaw, we’re inclined to believe that the $370 million he referenced applies to just the US.
Alien: Covenant more sci fi thriller than scares. Bloody, good action. Fills gaps in series. Business projects similar to Prometheus ($126M)

This is great news! Of course, we can expect to see more early reactions in the coming weeks, before the critics weigh in. At this moment, everything points to those reactions being positive, or at least better than they were for previous DCEU releases.
