Patty Jenkins said that no major scenes were deleted from Wonder Woman, but it now appears that at least one did end up on the cutting room floor. Apparently, the scene has a direct connection to the upcoming Justice League!
At the end of Wonder Woman, we didn't know what happened to Steve Trevor's secretary, Etta Candy (Lucy David). Nor did we know the fate of Trevor's team, although they did play an essential part in the film. But now, an epilogue has been released online, and we’ve learned that Etta gathered the team for their first new mission.
That mission involves the transport of a very old and powerful artifact to the US. The artifact remains unnamed, but we’re certain that it’s a Mother Box, specifically the one that was given to the Men.

Even more interestingly, Etta says that this is her first mission with the team, but it's also their first mission without Steve Trevor. Could this be a hint that we'll see these characters again? It certainly appears so.
As an epilogue, the scene works. But we understand why it was cut. One reason may have been that they wanted to avoid further comparisons to Captain America: The First Avenger. So, although it would have made for a sweet credits scene, leaving it out was the way to go.
After all, Wonder Woman did end as Diana Prince flew away after hearing what seemed to be a boom tube originating from a Mother Box.
The scene will be included with the Wonder Woman Blu-ray, which will be released on September 19, 2017.
