In the last couple of days, the Internet has been flooded with back-to-back reports on Suicide Squad and its negative reviews. And it doesn't look like it will fade away anytime soon, at least not until most of us have watched it.
Director David Ayer and cast members like Joel Kinnaman, Jay Hernandez, and Karen Fukuhara haven't shied away from reacting to the critical response. They clearly didn't expect the August 5 release to bag such poor reviews.
But there's one more person from the DC Extended Universe family who is shocked with Suicide Squad's performance among the critics. It's Patty Jenkins, the director of the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, who claims to be "super confused" and "surprised" by the reviews.
Patty is currently busy as a bee with the editing process on her DCEU installment, but she did manage to find some time to attend the UK premiere of Suicide Squad. And after watching the movie, she can't figure out why it has received so much hatred from the critics.
According to what the director has tweeted via her official Twitter account, the David Ayer flick is nothing short of "great" and "awesome"!
And she makes it clear that her remarks are not influenced by the fact that she's in the DCEU. She "truly" feels this way! Check out her tweets below!
Uh"¦You guys. Super confused. Just went to the premiere of #SuicideSquad. Hadn't seen it. It's great! Not sort of great. GREAT! I mean…

…I loved it. So surprised by some reviews. I don’t get it. I thought it was awesome. And NOT just because I’m in the DC world. Truly.

Patty Jenkins may have a difference of opinion with the majority of movie critics who reviewed Suicide Squad but there are some who agree with her. Empire, Deadline, Comic Book, Slash Film, and CBR are the most notable ones.
So, the best way to find out whose side we end up picking is to watch the movie ourselves when it arrives! Why should we let others pick a side for us? We can pick a side for ourselves, can’t we?
