Filming for Wonder Woman 1984 began on June 13. The icing on the cake came that same day when it was confirmed that the rumors that Chris Pine would return as Steve Trevor were accurate.
Then we got a bonus! In addition to getting our first glimpses of Gal Gadot as both Diana Prince and Wonder Woman, we were treated to some on-set pics and videos of some intense action sequences. So the sequel has really started out with a bang!
We’ve been waiting for Warner Bros. to announce a Wonder Woman 1984 event for San Diego Comic Con 2018, especially since the only officially announced DC film so far is Aquaman. Fans in attendance at CineEurope have seen the movie’s first trailer, so we assume that the SDCC screening will be the official launch for the general public.
It’s also rumored that Shazam! will make an appearance at SDCC. Shooting just wrapped, so chances are good that fans at SDCC will be treated to the film’s first teaser (or even a trailer?). It wouldn't be the first time Warner Bros. has debuted two DCEU trailers at SDCC.
The latest news from Deadline is that Wonder Woman 1984 will be the convention’s major surprise! The publication added that Gadot plans to be there to present fans with their first look at the movie.
We should keep in mind that filming for Wonder Woman 1984 just began, so it’s not likely that fans will see actual footage from the movie. But Gadot might just bring along Kristen Wiig to introduce her character, Cheetah. After all, we’ve seen official pics of both Gadot and Pine in character.
So what do you think Warner Bros. has in store for fans at SDCC 2018?
