Warner Bros Moves Up Wonder Woman Release Date!

Warner Bros has moved up Wonder Woman release date!

When Warner Bros first announced the DC Extended Universe timeline, Wonder Woman solo movie was scheduled as the franchise's fourth installment after Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. The studio has changed its release date today, but it still remains the fourth DCEU installment. And they haven't pushed back its release date, rather moved it up!

Warner Bros (via The Hollywood Reporter) has moved Diana Prince's solo outing three weeks up. While it was previously scheduled to release on June 23, 2017, it will now hit the theaters on June 2, 2017.

Due to the change, Wonder Woman movie no longer shares its release date with the untitled fifth installment of the Transformers franchise. But a summer release date without competition is like gold dust. The movie will now have to compete with Columbia Pictures' buddy cop flick Bad Boys 3 which also releases on June 2. DreamWorks' animated venture Captain Underpants hits the theaters on the same date as well.

Wonder Woman movie has moved further away from the untitled Spider-Man movie which launches in theaters two weeks after its previous release date. But it has come closer to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales which releases on 26 May, 2017. In its second weekend, the Warner Bros flick will now face three more threats, The Divergent Series: Ascendant, The Mummy reboot and World War Z sequel, as these movies are scheduled for June 9, 2017 release.

The studio has also changed the release date of their version of Jungle Book to be directed by Andy Serkis. But unlike Wonder Woman, its release date has been pushed back from October 6, 2017 to October 19, 2018 - pushed more than a year back!

Apart from changing release dates of Wonder Woman and Jungle Book movies, Warner Bros has added two new movies to the DCEU timeline. They haven't announced the titles of these movies. While the first of the two untitled flicks will be releasing on October 5, 2018, the second one will hit the theaters on November 1, 2019.

Is the first untitled installment a Batman standalone movie? We recently heard a rumor about Warner Bros aiming to release it in 2018, didn't we? But what could be the other one? Any guesses?
