Tyrese Confirms Green Lantern Talks with Warner Bros.

The Green Lantern Corps movie, which was previously announced as Green Lantern, is set for a 2020 release. But a number of actors have campaigned for roles in the flick since it was originally announced in 2014. At that time, we believed that either Hal Jordan or John Stewart would cameo or even be the lead in a movie between 2014 and 2020. But now"¦

We know that Green Lantern Corps will be a sort of Lethal Weapon in space, featuring both Jordan and Stewart. So, which actors are interested in a slice of the DC Extended Universe pie?

Tyrese Gibson, who appeared in the Fast and Furious and Transformers movies, was likely the first to express an interest. At one time, the actor didn't shy away from reminding Warner Bros. that as a part of both movie franchises, could bring Green Lantern Corps a host of fans if cast in the role of John Stewart.

During a recent interview with SyFy Wire, the actor said that he met with Warner Bros. to discuss the role:

I would love to do it. You know, I had a couple meetings at Warner about it. I just think that they're still trying to figure out what the move is. I would love to officially confirm, but I can't. And if they go in a different direction, I think they know what's best for the movie. But the fans started this campaign, and all I've done is made use of my social media to let folks know I'm interested.

Reportedly, the studio wants to cast an actor between the ages of 21 and 30. But Tyrese is 38"¦
