After the immense success of Marvel Cinematic Universe, their rival camp Warner Bros decided to follow the same footsteps and develop a shared universe with the DC Comics superheroes aligned. DC Cinematic Universe is still in its early days with just one movie released, Zack Snyder's Superman reboot venture Man of Steel.
But there are a lot of movies announced, to be exact, ten more movies in the slot until 2020. These include next year's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, 2017's Gal Gadot starrer Wonder Woman and so on. The last among those is the 19 June, 2020 venture Green Lantern.
But it seems like the architect of the shared universe Zack Snyder had already erected a bridge to the movie with Man of Steel! He might have already introduced a major Green Lantern superhero in the movie that we didn't even notice! Puzzled? Let's start afresh in details!
Christina Wren In Batman V Superman!
In a recent interview with Pittsburgh magazine, the actress who played Major Carrie Farris in the first installment of DC Cinematic Universe confirmed that she will reprise her role in the second one, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Christina stated that she isn't playing any bigger role this time; she's only found her role in eight pages which took four to five days to wrap up. Forgot about her role completely? Here's a clip from Man of Steel to remind you of her before proceeding to the most vital segment!
Christina's Character Is Star Sapphire!
She hasn't confirmed that and she claims she is still unknown about the future plans of Warner Bros. But let's analyze! The alter-ego of Hal Jordon's love interest Star Sapphire is Carol Ferris and Christina's character, as mentioned previously, is Carrie Farris. This similarity of the names is the first point to be noted!
In the comic books, Carol is a pilot. Carrie is a military officer. Origin modification from a pilot to a military officer; that isn't a very radical one when the name of Superman had been modified to Man of Steel! So, this is the second point to be noted!
Now, the final one! Christina's role in the movie was very small but don't forget that she has been a part of every version of Man of Steel trailer. She has been given some limelight. And she's returning with Batman V Superman. So, her character has some importance in Snyder's plans!
Not that much coincidence should happen when you are in Shared Universe! What say guys?
