We have no doubt at this moment that Ben Affleck's Batman appears in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. We have already seen glimpses of the Caped Crusader in the trailers. But what we aren't sure about is the extent of his role.
First, we came across rumors that suggested Batman just has a cameo in Suicide Squad. Later, we heard that he has a bigger role than originally assumed. A more recent rumor dropped by Batman News tends to offer us some details on his appearance in the David Ayer flick. Be warned, the following content may feature minor SPOILERS for Suicide Squad.
According to the outlet, Ben Affleck's character doesn't cross the path of the entire team of Task Force X. There's no epic confrontation between the superhero and the band of supervillains. Batman has three scenes in the August 5 release, and two of them are with Will Smith's Deadshot.
The outlet doesn't want to spoil the movie for you by getting too specific, so all we have about the first scene, featuring Deadshot and Batman, is that it’s "an emotional one". The second scene involving the two is "in the form of a flashback".
Between the two scenes with Deadshot in Suicide Squad, Batman has another scene involving Jared Leto's The Joker and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn. It's the car chase scene that’s been teased in the trailers.
The outlet suggests that the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime don't have "much interaction" in the scene. The interaction is mostly between the superhero and supervillainess. Just as we've heard before, and have seen in the trailer, The Joker's car drops into the water and Batman manages to get Harley Quinn out safely.
Even though this seems quite reasonable, given the fact that Ben Affleck didn't spend too much time filming for Suicide Squad, we should take it with a grain of salt. We are less than two and a half months away from watching the movie in theaters. So, we won't have to wait for too long to find out the truth.
