No One has Guessed Scott Eastwood's Suicide Squad Character!

Suicide Squad producers talk about Scott Eastwood's mysterious character in Suicide Squad!

Last summer, when the first set of photos from the Suicide Squad movie set surfaced on the web, we started speculating what role Scott Eastwood would play in the movie. And, with less than a month remaining before the movie rolls into theaters, we’re still speculating, because it hasn't been revealed!

We have heard so many rumors and theories suggesting various different characters for the actor, such as Dick Grayson (Nightwing), Oliver Queen (Arrow), Slade Wilson (Deathstroke) and Roy Harper (Arsenal). Did someone say he's Jason Todd? Not sure!

But according to Andy Horwitz, one of the producers of Suicide Squad, we have yet to guess Scott Eastwood's character correctly! Horwitz tells Comic Book, “No one has guessed right. I’ve seen some of the guesses [online] and no one has guessed right.”

Richard Suckle, another producer of the August 5 release, suggests that the character has enough significance in the movie, stating, “He’s a very important part of the film and works directly alongside Colonel Flag in the mission. That’s kind of really the best way to describe it.”

According to the producer, Scott Eastwood was "sort of a last minute piece of casting by a bunch of different actors for these roles". He adds that at first the mysterious character was "sort of existing", and then there was a time the character wasn't going to be a part of the movie.

But director David Ayer wanted to bring the character back, and eventually they signed Eastwood because he had worked with the director before in Fury.

According to a recent Collider report, Scott Eastwood is portraying not a comic book character, but "a Navy SEAL that's part of the main mission alongside the Suicide Squad". This certainly aligns with a recent report suggesting that the character is an original one named Lieutenant "GQ" Edwards.

At this point, we don't have anything solid on Scott Eastwood's character, and it seems likely that we will have to wait for a little more than three weeks to find out everything about the character and his role in the movie.

For a while now, we have been hearing that Warner Bros. is already planning multiple spinoff movies. David Ayer wouldn’t be surprised if those movies eventually get the greenlight! While speaking to Comic Book, the director claims that there are possibilities for endless spinoffs. He explains:

I think that because of the nature of the comic book universe and the DC universe, it’s really a fractal. It’s really infinite anyways you could go. Especially the DC universe, I think, is one of the most complex fiction universes. What with the crisis, and pre-crisis and the multi-dimensional nature, and all the time-lines, and everything like that. Each one of these characters could be their own film. Suicide Squad could be a zillion films.

Apart from these tidbits, we have a new TV spot and a new international trailer for Suicide Squad. You can check them out below!
