It was recently revealed that the Harley Quinn-centered Suicide Squad spinoff we've been hearing about since last May has been given the title Gotham City Sirens. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, claiming that the project showcasing the top female supervillains from DC Comics is on the fast-track. David Ayer is on board as director, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet will write the script.
Soon after the report surfaced online, Ayer posted a photo with the hashtag "#Sirens4ever" via his official Twitter account, featuring Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman. That looked like a confirmation, both of the report's authenticity and of the arrival of Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley and Selina Kyle in the DC Extended Universe.
Now, Bleeding Cool has come up with a new report linking Megan Fox and the Gotham City Sirens role of Poison Ivy. The site claims to have seen "hard evidence" that the Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star ordered Harley Quinn comic book issues #14, #17, and #38 and had them sent to her Warner Bros. address.
Since the first two of the three issues explore Harley Quinn's relationship with Poison Ivy, and the third looks at the Gotham City Police Department, they’re speculating that Fox might be gearing up to play the notorious eco-terrorist.
Of course, this is just a rumor, and it should be taken with a giant grain of salt. But considering the fact that the 30-year-old actress had expressed her desire to play either Poison Ivy or Red Sonja during a 2014 Chinese press tour interview, this seems quite possible.
Whether Megan Fox eventually lands the role of Poison Ivy in Gotham City Sirens remains to be seen, but thanks to Boss Logic, we now have a fan-art piece that can help us imagine what she could look like as the supervillain! Check it out below!
