While we’ve seen Black Canary in numerous animated ventures and on live-action television over the years, the character has yet to make her live-action theatrical debut. But with the emergence of the DC Extended Universe, we can expect that to happen in the near future. And if that happens, there's someone who would love to portray the iconic female superhero.
Katheryn Winnick, who is best known for portraying Lagertha in the History series Vikings, revealed during a recent fan Q & A session on Twitter that she’s interested in playing Black Canary in a DC movie. When a fan asked if she would like to play the character in a Green Arrow movie, the Canadian actress responded, "Hell ya!" Check out the question and the response below!
@KatherynWinnick If DC make a movie about the green arrow would you like to play the black canary? #WinnickWednesday

Arrow star Stephen Amell claimed earlier this year that Warner Bros. didn't have any plans to introduce Green Arrow in the DCEU in near future. So, a standalone movie for the character is not likely to happen anytime soon.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean that Black Canary won't be coming to the big screen. The character is a founding member of Birds of Prey, and a Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey movie is in the works. They’ve already hired Shut In scribe Christina Hodson to pen the script.
According to a rumor that surfaced on the web last year, Black Canary would be introduced in next year's Justice League or its 2019 sequel before appearing in a Birds of Prey movie. But the actresses who were reportedly considered for the role were Supernatural star Alona Tal and Mad Max: Fury Road star Abby Lee. However, Katheryn Winnick wouldn't be a bad option either! What do you think?
