Since fans realized that The Man of Steel wasn’t actually dead at the conclusion of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there’s been speculation that he would return sporting a new black suit, a mullet, and a beard, as he did in the comics. But so far, we’ve seen no concrete evidence of this in set pics or interviews.
Even Henry Cavill teased the suit at one point. But he’s made numerous teases, including the appearance of a Green Lantern in the upcoming Justice League and the showdown between Superman and Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson).
So the black suit debate continues…
We may finally have some evidence, though. Mattel Toys has released a new line of Justice League figures and the newly resurrected Man of Steel is included! Check it out below!
We should keep in mind that a movie action figure is no confirmation, especially since the line also features a Superman figure clad in the traditional suit. But then again, this might actually be more than a tease.
Aside from appearing in a couple of posters (and not even the really good ones), Superman is conspicuously absent from the Justice League marketing materials. So can the audience expect some sort of surprise when he returns, since…well, since his resurrection is no surprise? Who knows? Maybe he'll wear that black suit, after all.
Speaking of posters, a new batch of them depicting the entire Justice League (except for Superman) has made its way online. Here they are, via Screen Rant!
Justice League is scheduled to hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
