While there are still 2 years to go until Justice League Part One is released, our interest is as high as ever for DC's superhero extravaganza. Firstly, we will see how DC and Warner Bros tackle a major ensemble superhero flick, in another way than Marvel did. And secondly because of the rumored villains for the flick.
But there are also some other reasons why both of the Justice League films piqued our interest. While Zack Snyder's cinematography is awesome at times, thus far his movies (with a few exceptions) have lacked a proper story. Not any more, apparently!
One of the best writers
For both of the Justice League films, Zack Snyder has secured the services of one of the most well regarded writers in the industry. Chris Terrio, who won the Academy Award for Argo is in charge for both of the movies, as well as next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We cannot not be excited for this, especially when he is praised by everybody for his work.
For example, Jesse Eisenberg notes that Terrio's isn't in comics - which is an ace up his sleeve, since he can bring both emotion and drama into a given premise: "His background is not in comic books, so he was coming at it from emotion and story and created this really wonderful character, as enigmatic as he is emotionally honest. Now people expect the tone to be more realistic just because we live in a world where the average audience member has a sense of psychological motivations… [it raises the question] how can one man – Superman – have so much power? These are the kind of things that we talk about when we think about authoritarian states, when we talk about Vladimir Putin having a strong foothold in Eastern Europe. They’re addressing geopolitics in this movie and not in a way that’s pretentious or esoteric. Terrio cleverly ties in these really exciting superhero elements with these really sophisticated, philosophical themes in a much smarter, different way. That’s what I like to do with my writing: to have these very sophisticated debates happen on very basic levels.” (via Comic Book Movie).
The actor sure knows how to raise the expectations for Batman v Superman. But what about Justice League? Well, for once, we can expect that the names will be changed. Justice League Part One and Justice League Part Two aren't exactly going to excite the average moviegoers, who haven't had prior contacts with any DC movies.
And what did the best writer do? He finished both scripts already, for the first Justice League film to begin shooting in early 2016!

No Brainiac - Darkseid
Back when David S. Goyer was in charge of the script, Justice League was indeed supposed to feature Brainiac as the main baddie. Apparently, the android noticed the same signal that brought Zod to Earth and, intrigued by the Kryptonian technology, planned his arrival - only to encounter the superheroes united.
But maybe this is for the best - we have already seen a major ensemble superhero flick featuring an evil android. So, when Chris Terrio took the reins, he made this major change - Darkseid will be instead the main villain and he will be hinted at in both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman (as Snyder said, the plan is to have the latter film lead directly into the Justice League - so it makes perfect sense).
So how will he be introduced? Apparently, he will completely destroy a world. And that world is Thanagar, the home planet of Hawkman. Quite the introduction, if you ask us.
Still, one cannot care less - when Krypton was destroyed in Man of Steel, Snyder actually tried to make us feel the loss, with the first 20 minutes spent on that planet. We doubt the same will happen in Justice League for Thanagar.
Nonetheless, this will be a great introduction for other characters as well, besides Darkseid, with Hawkman being a member of the Justice League in the comics. But this isn't all as far as the main baddie is concerned!

Justice League Part One
Apparently, Darkseid won’t just pop out of nowhere, without first testing the superheroes. Thus, he will send his generals on Earth to see if they are worthy of his presence. Who are these generals. There are no details yet.
In any way, having Darkseid before Thanos could be a great move for DC!

Darkseid - hidden connections to Justice League members
Apparently, Darkseid has some secret (and, potentially, deadly) connections with some of the Justice League members. While the Hawkman Easter-Egg is welcomed, he is not a member yet. So who are these heroes then?
According to the rumors, they are Aquaman and Wonder Woman. As far as the latter is concerned, if indeed her solo film will lead into the Justice League films, we can see how this could happen. Given the age of the superheroine in the DCEU, we can at least expect for her to have clashed with Darkseid minions in the past.
But as far as Aquaman is concerned, we have no idea as to what his relationship with the Apokolips ruler is. We will just have to wait and see.
Oh, and there is also this other rumor which says that Wonder Woman will fight Aquaman. Hopefully, this won't be the same kind of brawl as in the first Avengers, a sort of c**k measuring contest (she has none, you know…). In any way, the said rumor suggests that Darkseid can already control superhero minds.

Justice League - more
As far as the other characters are concerned, there are some rumors for them too. In this way, the comic relief will come from two of the Justice League superheroes, namely the Flash and Cyborg (for the moment there is no word about the Green Lanterns). Lois Lane will have just a small cameo - which is pretty understandable, since she is mainly a Superman character.
A new love interest for Batman will also be introduced, when Vicky Vale will appear (she was portrayed by Kim Basinger in Tim Burton's Batman). Also, it is expected for Amanda Waller to appear in both of the Justice League movies.

The unlikely hero
While Superman is the heavy-hitter everybody expects to see defeating Darkseid, it won't be him. Just like it won't be any of DC's Trinity members. Quite frankly, and most likely, none of the Justice Leaguers will do that.
Instead, the answer will be in the Speed Force. Flash will be the one to revert time when a Darkseid will have almost defeated the Justice League.
