After Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman, a romance between the two superheroes in Justice League wouldn't come as a big surprise. But we really didn’t believe that the director would take these two iconic characters in that direction.
Also, with the time limits the studio imposed on the film, is there really room for romance between any characters but Clark Kent and Lois Lane?
Well, apparently there is. Ben Affleck recently told Entertainment Weekly that Joss Whedon began to explore this dimension of the relationship between Batman and Wonder Woman during reshoots, and added that the scenes “play the dynamics, the sexual tension with Wonder Woman“ and the Dark Knight.
Wonder Woman briefly considered a serious relationship with the Caped Crusader in the JLA comics of the early 2000s. She ultimately decided that it wasn’t worth risking a strong friendship to try something that might not work.
But the most famous instance of the characters’ romance was in the Justice League Unlimited animated series, in which the Dark Knight went so far as to sing to save Diana. This tweet about the Justice League movie may refer to that episode:
SO I saw #JusticeLeague – twice. Still under embargo, but: This is a fun superhero flick. Funny, but still hero adventure. Reminds me of JL Unlimited ep. Likable interaction among recognizable heroes. There is a villain problem (no worse than Marvel’s). – @aaronsagers

Of course, the sexual tension exists. But that doesn't mean it’s going to develop into something else, especially if we consider that the Flashpoint is coming.
Until then, we can't wait to see Justice League when it hits theaters on November 17!
