Justice League to Begin Where Batman v Superman Ended

Superman’s death in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was an indication that this year's Justice League would serve as a direct sequel to that film. The Man of Steel needs to come back to aid the other superheroes in their fight against Steppenwolf, a villain who was introduced in B v S. With Wonder Woman assisting, Batman is still in search of other superheroes. We’ll finally learn more about the Mother Boxes, the powerful artifacts that were revealed along with Steppenwolf in the Communion clip.

Again, we were aware that Justice League will be a direct sequel to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But Total Film reported that the connection between the two movies will be even more obvious than we previously believed.

This year's Justice League will conclude the trilogy that began with Man of Steel, but that’s not the connection we’re talking about. According to Total Film, Justice League will begin right where Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ended. The film will open with Superman underground after his sacrifice to save the world from Doomsday (via CBM).

No additional details have been released, but we wonder at what point in the movie Superman will resurrect. We already know that he’ll play an important role in the movie’s action, and we assume that he'll be the one to save the team. That’s possible, but this latest report might indicate that he'll return right at the beginning of the movie.

It could be an even bigger surprise than the rumored appearance of a Green Lantern.

With Justice League set to hit theaters on November 17, we'll have our answer fairly soon.
