A new batch of Justice League stills has surfaced online, and they finally reveal Julian Lewis Jones’ secret role!
In 2016, Jones shared with a Welsh website that he would have a starring role in Zack Snyder's DC superhero extravaganza, but he stopped short at divulging any details about his character. Of course, that left fans free to speculate, and the countless wild guesses had him playing Steppenwolf (Ciaran Hinds wasn't confirmed for the role at that time), Darkseid, and Abin Sur, among others.
However, none of those guesses was correct, as evidenced by an Instagram photo the Welsh actor shared of himself wearing Atlantean armor. Snyder actually first shared the photo on Vero, but the headgear and heavy beard obscured Jones’ face. Take a look:
The Where the Heart Is alum captioned the photo as follows:
So incredibly proud to be part of @justiceleague. @ZackSnyder is a Cinematic Genius and a Lovely Fella. @prideofgypsies @rehsifyar @harijamespt @brookeence @bond.girl.007 @fitnessbyfortitude @wfmft @benhoward @ezrator @benaffleck @henrycavill in UK Cinemas from 17th November.
And here's the original photo as shared by Zack Snyder (via Twitter's @AquamanShrine)!
The Amazons accompany the Atlanteans in Snyder’s photo, so this may be a part of the flashback scenes in which the races and the humans form an alliance, with the goal of defeating Steppenwolf. Julian Lewis Jones' attire appears to suggest that his character is the comics’ King Atlan, the ruler of Atlantis.
In addition, Warner Bros. India recently released some new Justice League stills, and Snyder shared another BTS photo. Check them out below (via Twitter's @ReelFada)!
