Josh Gad, Geoff Johns, and Jon Berg Tease The Penguin - Daily Superheroes - Your daily dose of Superheroes news

Josh Gad, Geoff Johns, and Jon Berg Tease The Penguin

Reportedly, 2019 will see several new Warner Bros. DCEU movies related to Batman, including The Batman, Nightwing, Batgirl, Gotham City Sirens, and possibly Suicide Squad 2. This is a good move for Warner Bros., because Batman-related movies are always successful at the box office.

However, there’s usually nothing new about how the movies are produced, save for some of the directors and stars. The web is flooded with rumors, but how do we know which rumor we can trust?

The Penguin (DC Wikia)

This might add some fuel to the rumors, but Josh Gad (Beauty and the Beast, the upcoming Murder on the Orient Express) teased The Penguin on his social media accounts a while back, basically hinting that he would appear in The Batman. He followed up by saying that he was testing the waters and basically campaigning for a role. Others have said that The Penguin won't appear in the Matt Reeves-directed movie, which will feature antagonists Deathstroke, Joker, and Scarecrow.

Was Gad really teasing a role in The Batman, or was he just trying his luck? With so many Batman-related movies in various stages of preproduction, he could pop up in any of them. And there may be some truth to the rumors that he has a role in The Batman.

Most recently, Gad tweeted a new pic of himself holding Batman Adventures Vol. 1 with Penguin on the cover. More importantly, however, Gad is flanked by none other than DC Films President Geoff Johns and producer Jon Berg (Batgirl and Gotham City Sirens, among other DCEU projects). Check it out:

Right. Nothing to see there.

What do you think? We believe that Josh Gad has signed on to portray the Penguin, although probably not in The Batman.
