Jon Hamm hasn't had any meetings with Matt Reeves or anyone in Warner Bros. about Batman but he is interested in landing the role.
Around nine months ago, we heard through the grapevine that Hamm had been gunning hard to take over as Bruce Wayne from his friend and The Town co-star Ben Affleck. In a recent interview on Graham Bensinger's In Depth, the 47-year-old actor denies such rumors.
When Bensinger addresses the rumors, Hamm claims that he's heard them since the inaugural season of Mad Men. However, he is yet to have an official conversation about the part. He adds:
I’ve sat in the room with all these guys. I have never been offered anything. I think the internet wants what it wants. But, I mean, a lot of people have to sign off on that, obviously not just the internet.
The two-time Golden Globe winner may not have seen an offer coming his way, but that doesn't mean he isn't interested in receiving one. He admits that he would be very much eager to portray Batman if the script appears to be up to the mark. According to Hamm:
It depends on the script, what the story is. I am a huge comic book fan, always have been. I’ve read comic books since I was 9 or younger. And I’m pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them. And I like the genre, and I like when they’re done well"¦ I’d probably fit the suit. I’d have to work out a lot, which I don’t love. But, I am sure there’s an interesting version of that being out there. And if they wanted to tap me on the shoulder and ask me to do it, why not?

Of course, before Jon Hamm or anyone lands the role of the Dark Knight, Ben Affleck has to officially leave it at first. It's been more than a year and half since we first heard about departure, but an official announcement on that front is yet to arrive.
However, even in their latest reports about Henry Cavill's alleged exit from the role of Superman, multiple reputable Hollywood trades maintain that it won't be Affleck that we see in the next live-action big-screen adventure of the Caped Crusader.
