What could that connection be?
We can debate for a whole day and we still won’t know. We can presume that Batman was dead that day in a rather metaphoric way: this powerful force of good was not needed any longer when his counterpart, the power of evil, was banished.
On the other hand, could the soundtrack provide another clue? Was that really the Joker being cremated? This is a rather silly question to ask – of course he was! But who is the Joker? Or rather, what is he?
Is the soundtrack trying to say that Batman is dead because he cannot kill his archenemy? Is the soundtrack saying that the Clown Prince of Crime resides in all of Gotham’s citizens? Is Batman dead because he has to, because he is the reason why Joker appeared in the first place?
Who knows – we don’t know. What we know is that there are just a couple of days until the 23rd of June, when Arkham Knight will be released!
