We're two days away from the worldwide release of Justice League. The studio is doing its best to attract moviegoers, and it seems to be working. The latest predictions say that the movie will open to $110 – $120 million in the US, and to a huge $325 – $355 million worldwide. If Justice League has legs, it will be another DC Extended Universe hit.
During a recent interview with DC All Access, Jason Momoa revealed that a fan theory dating back to 2013’s Man of Steel is actually true. Momoa then added that Aquaman had a hand in Clark Kent’s rescue from drowning.
He’s obviously talking about the scene in which Kent saved the oil rig workers, only to be blown into the ocean later. The apparently unconscious Kent was saved by whales, but it turned out that Aquaman had sent them:
I'll give you a cool little thing that's not in this movie – what Zack [Snyder] kind of told me for his idea when he was doing – for Aquaman. In Man of Steel, when Henry's saving – he's on the oil rig, holding it up, and all of a sudden he's in the ocean and floats in the ocean. “I had Aquaman save him.” So they did cross paths at one point (via CBM).
So Aquaman encountered Superman well before Batman’s DCEU entrance. However, Arthur Curry may not have known who he was saving. As far as he was concerned, he was just saving an unfortunate soul.
Will you see Justice League on November 17?
