While before the release of Suicide Squad Jared Leto praised David Ayer's vision of the movie, the actor has changed his tune since the 5th of August. And, considering the amount of work and soul he has put into the making of the film, maybe the actor is right.
To be noted, Jared Leto hasn't seen Suicide Squad just yet. And, by the looks of it, he won't be seeing it any time soon. The actor, following the release of the film and the negative reviews pouring in, has said in the last couple of weeks that many of the scenes he shot ended up on the cutting room floor. Furthermore, according to the actor, these scenes were so many that a Joker solo film could have been made.
And it all culminated yesterday, when Jared Leto expressed his feelings about what Warner Bros. is doing with the DCEU. During a Q&A session at Camp Mars, his dissatisfaction couldn't be made any clearer. Simply put, Jared Leto said F**k "˜em when asked about the studio's intentions in regard to the character.
Apparently, the studio prohibits the actor from doing what he likes (such as rock-climbing). Can we say at this moment that Jared Leto has no intention of returning to the DCEU? It certainly appears so. And, even if it is stipulated in his contract that he has to return, we guess that he'll find a way around it.
Of course, many saw this new version of the Joker as being far away from what the character stands for. However, nobody can deny that his talent could have elevated the movie. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened that way. And, as the actor said, those who saw the movie blame David Ayer instead of blaming the studio for the end result.
