In March, we told you about a report suggesting that Warner Bros. was considering Blade: Trinity director David S. Goyer to take the helm of Green Lantern Corps. But it appears that Goyer – who’s working on the script with Justin Rhodes, is no longer in contention for the director’s job.
According to That Hashtag Show, Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt is "currently attached" to call the shots for the upcoming DC Extended Universe installment. THS added that Wyatt, whose 2018 sci-fi thriller Captive State is currently in post-production, had cleared his schedule to take on Green Lantern Corps.
However, The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez tweeted that the story is inaccurate. The film reporter said that he heard the director was linked to the project a while ago, but wouldn't seal the deal with Warner Bros. until he read the script. Check out the tweets below!
re: Rupert Wyatt/GL CORPS heard a while back HOWEVER THERE WAS NO DEAL because he wants to read script first before making a decision.

THS also claimed to have casting breakdowns for central Green Lantern Corps characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart. In the movie, which has been described as "Lethal Weapon in space", Hal mentors the younger John. Here are the breakdowns:
Hal Jordan: Caucasian, 39 - 50. A former military test pilot, he is now a veteran of the Green Lantern Corps.
John Stewart: African- American male, 21 - 30. Prior to joining the Green Lantern Corps, he was a sniper in the military.
Interestingly, most of the actors on the rumored shortlist for the role of Hal Jordan – including James Marsden, Joel McHale, Bradley Cooper, and Ryan Reynolds – fall into the specified age group. Tom Cruise, who was also on the list, is 55, but he looks young enough for the part. The list also includes Armie Hammer and Jake Gyllenhaal, who are both under 39 years of age.
