The planned Green Lantern movie (which is said to be a film about the entire Corps) won't arrive until 2020. And some fans are pretty anxious to see how it will all fit into a shared universe. Warner Bros. did try to make this dream come true, back in 2011, but the studio failed miserably. Was it because of Ryan Reynolds? Was it because of a poor script?
Or was it because the Green Lantern flick relied just on the one superhero, without any backstory for the greater universe?
As we’ve said, some fans can’t wait until 2020. And that’s why they created their own versions of what the movie should have been and could be in the future. And – surprise – the trailers are for a Blackest Night adaptation. And they are pretty awesome, with some saying that they are even better than the full length Ryan Reynolds feature.
The YouTubers who made it happen are AList Productions and Ultra Sargent, who worked together on two different versions of the Blackest Night. Check out the AList Productions clip below:
Pretty neat, especially with the cool voice-over - and I’m sure you recognized who intoned the Black Lantern oath"¦
And here is the second, longer version of the Green Lantern: Blackest Night fan trailer, from Ultra Sargent:
And I guess you recognized in both of the trailers where the clips came from: Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman trailer, Man of Steel, Green Lantern (obviously), The Flash, Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Legends of Tomorrow, Thor: The Dark World, Batman Begins, DC Universe Online Trailer, Justice League trailer, X-Men: Apocalypse, Watchmen, Unbroken, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Ghost Rider, Smallville, The Dark Knight Rises, and Supergirl.
Pretty awesome fan-made trailers. And while I doubt that Warner Bros. will adapt the Blackest Night anytime soon, maybe the powers that be should pay attention to these clips.
