Justice League is far from being a disaster, but it is causing some division among DC Extened Universe fans. Some felt it was a masterpiece, others described it as just average, and still others felt that it completely let them down. But almost all of them agreed that Zack Snyder's version would have been much better.
People may believe that Snyder’s version is superior because most felt that the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which contained scenes Snyder had to cut from the theatrical release, is actually the best version of that movie.
As they’ve done with past movies, DC Comics and DCEU fans are circulating a petition demanding the release of a Zack Snyder Justice League cut, complete with Junkie XL's score, which Joss Whedon replaced when he signed on to reshoot several scenes.
The petition, which you can view here, already has over 50,000 signatures.
Justice League is the culmination of the alien's story, and the beginning of a new chapter in the DC Extended Universe. Some fans have been waiting for years, while others have waited decades, for the film to finally arrive on the silver screen. The two-hour runtime is disrespectful toward Zack Snyder's vision, and toward the fans who have waited for more than a year to see the alien's story come to an end.
Of course, the biggest issue is that Zack Snyder was unable to finish the film in the first place, although principal photography was complete. Given the number of scenes Joss Whedon reshot or replaced, it’s highly unlikely that the studio will release Snyder’s version, simply because such a thing really doesn’t exist.
There might be an extended or ultimate edition, but it would most likely remain a combined Snyder/Whedon product.
What are your thoughts? Would a Zack Snyder version of Justice League be more successful than the theatrical release?
