DC Entertainment Disagreed with Snyder’s DCEU Vision. However”¦

Everybody knows that Zack Snyder had to leave the DC Extended Universe after a family tragedy. Although he wasn't able to finish the upcoming Justice League, and Joss Whedon completed some reshoots, Snyder will be credited as the film’s sole director.

During an interview with Vulture that touched on the interconnectivity within the shared universe, DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson said that the bosses didn't see eye-to-eye with Zack Snyder's vision for the future. According to writer Abraham Riesman, who wrote the Vulture article, Nelson didn't agree with Snyder because there were fears that his vision would have an adverse effect on the DC brand.

Thus far, the DCEU movies have been commercially successful, but highly divisive (with the exception of Wonder Woman).

According to Riesman, although Snyder’s vision didn’t sync with that of DC, he was able to continue on with his plans for the DC Extended Universe. This was because Warner Bros. originally intended that the shared universe would be director-driven, even if it meant deconstructing characters rather than celebrating them (as, for example, Geoff Johns wanted).

Riesman followed up with a tweet asserting that there was no rift between Snyder and the bigger bosses, even after the critical failure of several DCEU flicks (via Screen Rant).

Throughout the past couple of years – especially after the release of Suicide Squad – we heard plenty of rumors that Warner Bros. had a very tight grip on its DC movies, and kept directors from being as creative as they would like. But if the studio did interfere in the making of Suicide Squad (reportedly making its own cut), it appears that the DCEU is a different sort of creation, in which each every director is allowed to do his or her own thing.

This is great news, since it eliminates the possibility of the movies being carbon copies -  as if a formula were in use.
