Rumor has it that Shazam! is going to join Aquaman at San Diego Comic Con 2018, but we’ve seen no official announcement to that effect from Warner Bros. Although we’re fairly certain that a trailer will be screened at SDCC, will that be enough for DCEU fans?
In addition to the Shazam! rumors, we’ve seen others about an SDCC appearance by Wonder Woman 1984. However, WW1984 has barely begun shooting, so we can’t expect Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins to bring a clip with them. On the other hand, a Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) reveal is more than possible!
Filming for Shazam! wrapped over a month ago, and director David F. Sandberg recently took to Twitter to express his excitement about SDCC:

Of course, Sandberg could have been referring to the other exciting events and presentations that are scheduled to take place at SDCC. Or he could just as easily be teasing that Cheetah reveal. But as the director of 2019 first DCEU movie, it’s even more likely that he was confirming that Shazam! will make an appearance!
At this point, we know very little about Shazam! We’ve only seen one banner and some rather disappointing on-set photos of star Zachary Levi in his superhero, and all we’ve seen of Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong) are some on-set images. On top of that, we’ve been kept completely in the dark about the film’s plot.
So what better event than SDCC to make these – and other – reveals?
We don’t know much about Shazam!, but we do know that the DCEU needs an infusion of entertaining movies after Justice League. And we hope that Shazam! fits the bill!
