Who is the best Batman to date? When asked that question, many would answer, Christian Bale. They would say that the actor nailed it in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. However, Bale, himself, doesn't think he did that well in the role. Here's what he said in a recent interview with Yahoo Movies:
I didn't quite manage what I hoped I would throughout the trilogy. Chris did, but my own sense of self is like, "˜I didn't quite nail it.'
The 42-year-old actor went on to reveal that it was Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker in the second movie that caused him to develop an inferiority complex. He felt that Ledger "just kind of completely ruined" all of his plans! Bale added:
Because I went, ‘He's so much more interesting than me and what I'm doing.'
Christian Bale loves watching Adam West's Batman!
In another recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bale spoke highly of the first live-action Batman, Adam West. When asked who he thinks is the best Caped Crusader, here's how he responded:
It depends on who you talk with. You can’t beat Adam West, it just depends what you’re in the mood for. I love watching Adam West.
This comes as quite a surprise, considering the fact that, during his recent appearance on The Big Bang Theory, Adam West said that even his "poodle knows Bale's overrated"! And he ranked Christian Bale as the fifth best Batman – after him, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, and Will Arnett (Lego Batman), and only ahead of George Clooney!
Christian Bale is looking forward to Batman v Superman!
Even though Bale's Dark Knight Trilogy co-star Morgan Freeman claimed that no one can beat Bale's incarnation, Bale, himself, has a different opinion. He is impressed with what he's seen in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailers, and is looking forward to the movie. He said:
Everyone brings their own element to that – Ben [Affleck] will do that, as well. I think the trailers are looking great, and I’m looking forward to that.
