It was quite a surprise when Joss Whedon announced yesterday that he’s developing a solo Batgirl movie for the DCEU. The project is no more than a month old, but today has brought another, equally surprising, update. It appears that Warner Bros. and Joss Whedon already have a specific actress in mind to portray Barbara Gordon.
Actress Lindsey Morgan (best known for her role in The 100) posted a couple of cryptic Twitter updates. The first said that she was auditioning for a role in New York:
First NYC audition ✔ï¸First NYC acting class ✔ï¸First NYC blizzard…✔ï¸?

The second announced that she had the job:
WELP. New project on the horizon AND I’M MORE THAN ECSTATIC about it!!!! ??????????????? thank you everyone for your support & love. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸

Of course, this might mean nothing at all, especially if we consider the fact that we know next to nothing about the DCEU's Batgirl. Casting rarely happens that quickly, and it wouldn't happen had Joss Whedon not made the official announcement about this endeavor.
So take this with a grain of salt. Lindsey Morgan could be yet another name to appear on the DCEU's expanding roster of actors. While she may not be as well-known a fan-favorite as someone like Emma Stone, her role in The 100 proved that she can play a strong, yet vulnerable, character.
So what do you think? Are things moving a bit too fast with Batgirl?
