Thanks to Josh Trank and/or 20th Century Fox (whoever the real culprit was), we are now able to use Fantastic Four as a synonym for the word DISASTER! This year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad might have both been brutally panned by the critics but they still managed to impress the lion's share of audience. But the August 7, 2015 release could entertain only nine percent of the critics and 19 percent of the audience (according to Rotten Tomatoes).
However, Miles Teller, who portrayed Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, is still eager to return for a Fantastic Four sequel. In a recent interview with Joblo, he is asked whether he would like to reprise the character in a sequel. His response:
Yeah, for sure. I loved the cast, I loved the characters. I think it’s such an interesting dynamic. I love how much they really need to rely on each other. This Avengers thing, they’ve kind of created their own Fantastic Four in a way, Marvel’s first family. Their powers can’t just exist on their own, you need Thor to do this, the Hulk to do his thing. So yeah, absolutely, I would do another one.
During the interview, the 29-year-old actor makes it clear that he has never signed on to a movie "for money". He claims that he considers the movie's script as "super important" and its director as "the most powerful person in terms of what that final product is".

Miles is SHOCKINGLY not the first Fantastic Four cast member to have expressed interest in coming back for a sequel. Earlier this year, Michael B. Jordan, too, responded in the affirmative when he was asked about reprising Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch, in a sequel. He claimed that he considered it as "a learning experience".
It didn't take Fox much time to remove the previously announced Fantastic Four sequel from their timeline, but it’s possible that they haven't given up on the franchise yet. Simon Kinberg, who served as a producer and co-writer for the movie, revealed a few months ago that they still have plans for a sequel.
According to Kinberg, they have learned from the "many mistakes" they made in the original movie, and they won't repeat them in a sequel. He promised to stay "truer to the essence of the tone of Fantastic Four" next time.
