Marvel's The Punisher has already started filming, and Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page will appear in it"¦Marvel didn't announce either of these tidbits, and we found out courtesy of photographers who have been roaming the show’s Brooklyn set. However, the studio has finally announced three new cast members for the series.
As they introduced us to the new cast members, they also revealed that The Punisher "will be streaming globally on Netflix in 2017". While we had heard about the possibility of the series premiering next year, we weren't sure about it. Many assumed that it wouldn't arrive until 2018. So now we can be certain about getting to watch at least three Marvel-Netflix ventures next year - Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher.
The actors who have joined the show's cast roster are The Chronicles of Narnia star Ben Barnes, Girls star Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Indian Summers star Amber Rose Revah. We did come across a TV Line report last month suggesting that Barnes had joined The Punisher series, but the role he was reported to be playing isn't exactly the one he is playing.
While we were informed that he was portraying the villainous Bobby Saint, Marvel has revealed that his character is Billy Russo. Russo is described as "Frank's Castle's best friend from his days in the Special Forces (who) runs a successful private military corporation called Anvil."
Moss-Bachrach is set to play Micro, a character whose arrival in The Punisher series has been rumored for a couple of months. The character is described as "a former NSA analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them."
Rose Revah's character in the series is named Dinah Madani. She, according to Marvel, is "a highly-trained, sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by the Punisher."
