Tom Holland recently spoiled the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel’s title. While promoting Ant-Man and the Wasp, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed that Holland was correct; the studio is carrying on the home theme by titling the second installment Spider-Man: Far from Home.
Feige added that Far from Home will begin shooting in two weeks (via Screen Rant). Returning characters will include Vulture (Michael Keaton), Scorpion (Michael Mando), and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal, according to rumor).
And that’s not all! Feige also teased that the title, like the title of the first installment, may have a number of different meanings. But when asked about what those meanings may be, especially after Infinity War and Avengers 4, Feige dodged the question. He did mention that the movie will take place during Peter Parker’s summer vacation, so it follows that he’s abroad with his friends:
Well, when does that movie take place? We know it's the summer. I think it's summer vacation. I think he's going to Europe with his friends. I don't know what summer…I mean, I do know [but you don't] (via CBM).
Of course, the characters might be on a school-related field trip. Parker did travel to Washington with his classmates during Homecoming. Will he meet Mysterio on his trip? Or is he chasing a lead on the villain? Time will tell.
We’re quite certain that the movie’s title has something to do with the final showdown between Thanos and the Avengers. What do you think?
